Sylvia Ginn

RGN, Diploma in Diabetes

Sylvia qualified RGN in 1980 and also holds a diploma in Diabetes, certificates of tissue viability and family planning. Sylvia was awarded Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Anglia University and has experience of many areas of medicine to the benefit of the extended role as a nurse practitioner. Her expertise in Pre & Post-operative care in carrying out various minor to moderate surgical procedures is most invaluable.

Sylvia joined the Old Road Medical Practice in April 1986 .Her knowledge in her subjects has proved to be commendable. She became a Nurse Practitioner in January 2003 and currently has clinics for assessing minor illnesses from coughs and colds and urinary tract infections. 

Nurses

Estelle Mirza

Housebound Nurse                  

Qualifications: RGN, RM, ONC.

Estelle qualified General and Orthopaedic Nursing in 1970. In 1971 she became a qualified Midwife. Estelle has held several posts in the field of medicine.   

Her experience as a Stewart of The Royal College of Nursing has given her a considerable skill of negotiations and her position as a chair-person in a private limited company is a great asset and use to the practice.

Sam Maddox

Qualifications: RGN, DipHE, Certificate in Spirometry

Sam is a member of the surgery’s experienced nursing team and assists in general nursing, care of disease management, Family Planning, vaccination clinics along with post-natal clinics and cervical screening.

Sam has a special interest in Respiratory Care and Heart Disease. She is also actively involved with Admission Avoidance, preventing patients from going into hospital unnecessarily.

Anne Greenwood

RGN

Anne is a member of the surgery’s experienced nursing team and assists in general nursing, care of disease management, Family Planning, vaccination clinics along with post-natal clinics and cervical screening.

Anne has a special interest in Diabetes and is trained in Insulin initiation.

HCA NVQ Level 3

Demi Suleyman

HCA NVQ Level 3

The HCA’s work alongside the nurses and run clinics for smoking cessation, warfarin monitoring, BP monitoring, telederm, and phlebotomy (blood taking). They are also trained to give some vaccines such as flu and B12.

Demi is also a key person involved in palliative care patients, managing the administration side of the service to an extremely high standard.
